Clifton School choir performing on stage: watch a short clip of Rhythms@Reichenau Concert

Spectacular concert organized by Clifton School: A moving journey through Classic, Jazz and popular Music

Shaun McCabe, director of the Arts at Clifton School (Durban), initiated this collaboration fundraiser for Reichenau to stage a musical concert in the church. “We would expect nothing in return other than the opportunity to perform,” so Shaun contacted us with his idea. After six months of intensive preparation by many supporters the idea becomes reality, notably thanks to the permission of the Diocese of Mariannhill.

On the noon, the doors of the church opened to welcome guests eagerly anticipating an auditory feast.

United we sing: Convergence of Cultures

Quite spontaneously, an unforgettable moment was born as exchange students from a German youth choir (Wolfsburg) and the local Clouds of Hope choir (Underberg) emerged from the audience and sang together with Clifton choir on stage. The audience has been infected by the talented students and rewarded with outstanding applause. “A follow-up of the concert is already planned for next year,” announced Shaun.

Thanks to all who made this day and to the numerous guests who supported us. The response was overwhelming. All proceeds go towards the voluntary initiative Reichenau Restoration & Development.
