Impressions from Reichenau Mill Open Day

22 October 2022

On Saturday, the Open House was held on Reichenau Mill site, which attracted more than 300 people despite the cold weather. The occasion celebrated the restoration by volunteers of the mill which was originally constructed by Trappist monks in 1896.

The guided tours and the freshly stone-ground Reichenau flour were in high demand. The program consisted of a flea market, live performances and culinary offerings, which were held at the Barn.

Generous donations were made by local businesses Underberg Dairy, My SPAR - Underberg SuperSpar, Colleen's Country Restaurant and Tusa Mountain Water.

The potential is also appreciated by the community: Mission Tourism restored at Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Municipality.

Thanks to all who made this day and to the numerous guests who supported us. The response was overwhelming. All proceeds go towards activities to ensure the mill is safely maintained for the benefit of the community.
